Shipowning

Western Bulk AS (through a 100% owned subsidiary) has since late 2009 made investments in Dry Bulk tonnage.

We aim to secure a core fleet of Handysize, Supramax and Panamax vessels less than 5-6 year old. The preferred vessels sizes are between 28-37,000 dwt (Handymax) , 52-64,000 dwt (Supramax) and 74-82,000dwt (Panamax). Our target is to own/control a fleet of 15-20 vessels.

Our preference is to do 3-10 years TC/BB structures with purchase options and to secure vessels on our own or in partnerships with equity investors, banks, shipowners and technical managers.

Shipowning now comprises of the following 16 owned/long term controlled vessels:

Western Oslo: IHI Japan; 56,000dwt; Feb 2008 built Supramax BB

Western Stavanger: Zhenjiang China; 32,500dwt; Aug 2010 built Handysize

Western Wilton: Dayang China; 58,000dwt (Crown 58) April 2011 built Supramax

Western Moscow: Dayang China; 58,000dwt (Crown 58) October 2011 built Supramax

Western Texas: Dayang China; 58,000dwt (Crown 58) December 2011 built Supramax

Western Kobe: Kawasaki HI Japan; 58,000dwt; July 2012 built Supramax TC
