Western Bulk Shipholding AS (100% owned by Western Bulk AS) has a declared strategy to make investments in Dry Bulk tonnage. We aim to secure a core fleet of less than 10 year old Handysize and Supramax vessels. The preferred Handysize vessels are between 28-37,000 dwt and the preferred Supramax vessels are between 52-60,000 dwt.

We target a fleet size of 10-20 vessels with a 70/30 split between Supra and Handy.

Our preference is to do 3-15 years TC/BB structures with purchase options and to secure vessels on our own or in

partnerships with equity investors, banks, shipowners and technical managers.

We are very flexible on structures and are open to do commercial management of vessels with profit split (on both the time charter and vessel values). We are also in the market for resale newbuildings and to make direct orders with ship yards.

In December 2009 Western Bulk acquired the Supramax M/V ‘Western Oslo’. The 56,000dwt vessel is built in 2008 at IHI Ship Yard in Japan.
