Business units
Pacific
The Pacific business unit is based in Singapore and has commercial and close co-operation with other offices, including Seattle. Volumes have increased throughout 2009 to about 15 vessels on average.
The focus of this business unit is on cargo loading and/or discharging and vessels open within the range between Singapore and Japan including Australia, and cargoes loading in the North Pacific US destined for Asia.
Over the past year the major trades have been coal movements from Australia to Asia and within South East Asia, clinker from Asia to West Africa, Nickel Ore from South East Asia to Europe, Australian fertilisers and grains from US Pacific to Asia.
The business unit is seeking to develop new trades and customer relationships throughout the region.
The business unit also represents Western Bulk towards Vessel Owners based in the Asia region for both spot and period employment.
